Teradata (TDC), the leading analytic data solutions company, today announced that the Resona Group deployed a Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse to better serve customers and improve efficiency.

The Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse will support the strategic and real-time operational inquiries from 14,000 bank employees, 2,200 ATMs, 230 call center representatives, and all customers doing internet banking.

This new capability was made possible when the three members of the Resona Group, Resona Bank, Saitama Resona Bank and The Kinki Osaka Bank, integrated their systems. They combined a customer relationship management database and a marketing customer information file system (MCIF) that ran on Teradata into the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse. Going forward, all three banks will use the new, integrated system and the data warehouse as the foundation from which to expand their real-time business capability.

With the analytics from the Teradata Active Enterprise Data Warehouse, the Resona Group will be able to better develop new financial products and services, reach corporate and individual customers with timely marketing campaigns, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs.

"With the latest Teradata technology, Resona Bank will be able to more efficiently reach and serve its customers at call centers, through on-line banking and at bank branches," said Yukihiko Yoshikawa, president, Teradata Japan. "We support Resona Bank's leadership and vision; their data-driven sales and service strategy will enable them to achieve their growth initiatives."

Resona Bank, Ltd. has operations in Tokyo, Osaka and other areas in Japan. Saitama Resona Bank, Ltd. serves customers primarily in Saitama Prefecture and The Kinki Osaka Bank, Ltd. serves the Kinki region.
