Leading financial technology company, WorldPay, has today announced that it has signed a lease on a new London office at Minerva's The Walbrook Building, London, EC4.

Taking 98,000 sq. ft. over floors five and six, together with some ancillary accommodation, this prime office building will serve as a new headquarters for around 1,000 employees in London, consolidating WorldPay's five offices in the capital, to one.

The company will begin a phased migration into the building in the summer and expects this to be completed by Q1 2014.

Philip Jansen, CEO, WorldPay said: "This is a very exciting milestone for WorldPay, our people, our culture and our journey towards full independence. We are investing heavily in growing and maintaining our market leading position and having the right base is key to that. The move to The Walbrook will also allow us to achieve cost efficiencies by consolidating our London properties and provides an excellent office environment to build our business.

"We are committed to ensuring that our working environment contributes to making WorldPay a great place to work and reflects our ambitions. Our new offices in San Francisco, Amsterdam and Manchester are testament to this.

"This is a significant step in evolving our business and our culture as we strive towards our goal of becoming the world's leading independent payment processing company."

Tim Garnham, joint chief executive of Minerva, added: "We are delighted that The Walbrook Building is going to provide the headquarters for WorldPay, which is attracted by its strong location, contemporary design and efficient floor plates. We look forward to welcoming them to the building and watching it become a thriving and dynamic office environment."

Stephen Downey, Corporate Director at GL Hearn advised WorldPay on the acquisition of the Walbrook and is retained to work with the business on their UK Property Strategy going forward.

Designed by Foster and Partners, The Walbrook Building provides 445,000 sq ft of office and retail accommodation and is located just a short walk from both Bank and Cannon Street t tube stations. Following this transaction, 163,500 sq ft of a total of 383,000 sq ft of office space has been let at The Walbrook and a further 50,000 sq ft is currently under offer, all of which has been achieved since the building was re-launched to the market in Autumn 2012. Other tenants include property consultant Jones Lang LaSalle and international insurance broker Arthur J Gallagher. The retail element of the scheme has recently been launched and is already attracting strong interest.

WorldPay has selected The TSK Group of Manchester to design, fit-out and furnish the new London HQ following on from the recently completed Manchester office which TSK delivered earlier this year.
