Tsys (NYSE: TSS) today announced that it has renewed its payments agreement with Nationwide Building Society. Nationwide is the world's largest building society and a major provider of credit cards, with approximately 15 million members.

As part of the agreement, TSYS will continue to process Nationwide's UK consumer card portfolio, as well as supporting all of its contact centre operations. Nationwide has utilised TSYS' outsourced payments processing solution, TS2®, since 2008.

Nationwide has more than 2 million cardholders supported by more than 300 agents employed in its dedicated card centre in Coventry, UK. The company was awarded 'Best Achievement in Customer Service' at The Card & Payments Awards 2013 for their 'Listening to Customers Campaign,' which was undertaken with the assistance of TSYS Managed Services EMEA.

"Nationwide continues to enjoy the flexibility and power of the TS2 solution, which has enabled us to grow our business whilst still maintaining the high standard of service our customers expect," said Adam Slater, senior manager, Credit Card, Nationwide Building Society. "Our proposition to customers is different from many other credit card providers, so having the support of TSYS, who have similar values, helps us differentiate ourselves in the market."

"TSYS is a major player in the UK consumer payments market, and retaining Nationwide as a key client reinforces our market leading position," said Kelley Knutson, executive vice president, TSYS. "The strong relationship between our two companies enables us to better support Nationwide as its business continues to expand, and we look forward to maintaining a high level of service for Nationwide's cardholders."

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
