The credit union's new Opteva ATMs feature the CO-OP NextGen ATM shared branching solution, which extends self-service conveniences to members and nonmembers alike. The solution provides members of participating CO-OP Shared Branching credit unions access to other credit union accounts or sub-accounts from Vibe's ATMs. The credit union is further enhancing the member experience with Diebold's deposit automation technology.

With headquarters in Novi, Mich., Vibe operates seven full-service branches throughout Southeast Michigan. Committed to making banking easier for its members, Vibe is a CO-OP Shared Branching institution. This involvement enables members of Vibe and other participating credit unions to access many of the same services they receive at their own institutions. With the addition of shared branching at the ATM, Vibe has extended this convenience to the self-service channel.

"Whether online, via Smartphone, an ATM, one of our branches or a shared branch, Vibe is making banking easier for not just our members, but members of every credit union," said Derrick Barber, chief operations officer, Vibe Credit Union. "The shared branching ATM solution from Diebold and CO-OP - combined with the efficiency of deposit automation - will help us further enhance self-service experiences for everyone."

Diebold is implementing 13 new Opteva ATMs - 11 of which will be deposit automation-enabled, shared branching terminals - across the credit union's branch network. Deposit automation allows ATM users to complete expedient envelope-free cash and check deposits.
Via the shared branching solution, which can be added to any Diebold Opteva ATM, credit union members can conduct a variety of specialized transactions through more locations and extended hours of operation. Standard ATMs can normally only access accounts linked to an ATM/debit card, which may limit transactions to just checking and savings accounts. The new ATMs offer CO-OP Shared Branching members additional options to access other accounts and banking products from their own credit union.

"Diebold's shared branch, deposit automation ATMs effectively extend Vibe Credit Union's branch hours by enabling a wider variety of transactions to be conducted at the low-cost self-service channel," said Mychal D. Kempt, vice president, North American operations, Diebold. "We're helping the credit union serve more members and deliver greater conveniences that are expected from full-service financial institutions."

To further enhance its self-service channel, the credit union is also considering Diebold's Integrated Services offering as a way to improve operational efficiencies.
