Ingenico (Euronext:FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, announced today that Sterling Payment Technologies, one of the nation's most innovative and customer-focused merchant service providers, has added a comprehensive range of Ingenico's Telium2 series payment devices to offer to its merchants countrywide.
Starting in May, Sterling will begin rolling out Ingenico's iCT220 and iCT250 bankcard countertop terminals, and iPP220 and iPP320 PIN pads.
Placing the top priority on secure electronic payment transactions and cardholders' data protection, Sterling views the EMV chip-based smartcard technology as playing a key role in helping all types and sizes of U.S. merchants mitigate fraud risk during card present transactions. Expanding its current portfolio of POS products with a new line of EMV-ready payment devices that would enable merchants to securely accept all forms of payment, including chip card transactions, became mission critical for Sterling. The company selected Ingenico and its Telium series products based upon security, technology, design, and product performance.
"Sterling's 2013 business objectives revolve around our ability to provide solutions to merchants that help them make more money," said Paul Hunter, President & CEO of Sterling Payment Technologies. "As merchants are faced with the need to accept EMV transactions, we believe Ingenico provides a very cost-effective and reliable solution. The Ingenico products protect our merchants from liability, where non-EMV capable solutions fall short."
Ingenico's products meet the latest PCI PTS security requirements and come equipped with diverse payment processing platforms to handle current and future forms of electronic payment transactions, including EMV chip card and NFC mobile payments. They are fully compatible with legacy infrastructures.
"Judging from Ingenico's successful recent experience with the migration to the EMV chip card technology in Canada, merchants and business owners will be relying heavily on their merchant service providers and processors to supply the best EMV-ready payment technology, customer support, and technical expertise," commented Thierry Denis, President of Ingenico North America. "We're pleased to partner with Sterling and offer our EMV-ready products and access to leverage Ingenico's global EMV experience. We are certain that their merchants will be satisfied with the quality, security, and performance of our products today and years to come."
Ingenico will be exhibiting and featuring its latest innovative payment products and solutions at the Electronic Transactions Association Annual Expo (ETA 2013), booth #544, in New Orleans next week. The company will display its complete Telium range of products and solutions, including iCT220, iCT250, iPP220, and iPP320 devices.
