MoneyGram's service is provided through Valora, a long-time MoneyGram agent based in Switzerland.

MoneyGram's initial service in Liechtenstein allows consumers to send money to friends and family from its Valora location in Schaan. Additional locations and service options, including the ability to receive remittances internationally, are planned for later in 2013.

Valora is a market leader in small outlet convenience retail shops through a network of kiosks and railway-station bookstores. The company has been a MoneyGram agent since 2010 in Switzerland.

"Our strong relationship with Valora, Switzerland's largest kiosk operator, will provide Liechtenstein's 36,000 residents with a new choice and a better value for sending money around the globe," said Michael Schuetze, regional director, MoneyGram. "Together, we will leverage Valora's retail division, kiosk network, and other small retail outlets that are in highly trafficked areas to expand our MoneyGram services in Liechtenstein."

The country expansion continues the growth momentum for MoneyGram, which reported an 18% transaction growth in remittance sends originating outside of the United States both for the fourth quarter and full year of 2012.
