Ingenico (Euronext: FR0000125346 - ING), the leading worldwide provider of payment solutions today introduced the iSC Touch 480.

This new extra-large 7'' touchscreen device combined with a unique set of payment and business applications effectively reinvents the multilane checkout and sets a new frontier in consumer engagement.

iSC Touch 480 is a next generation payment device designed for highly demanding multilane environments. Its unique set of innovative and advanced features includes a large 7'' 16/9 capacitive multimedia touchscreen for enhanced user experience, a powerful video decoder to play promotional videos and a complete portfolio of connectivity options. It supports all payment options, including EMV Chip & PIN and Chip & Sign, and offers contactless payment, both through an integrated module and an external add-on.

Designed to fit any checkout ergonomics, it can deliver high speed operations and a very high transaction volume. It offers high quality and durable signature capture capabilities along with secure cardholder recognition through the unique biometric measurement criteria. New, innovative NFC use cases such as couponing, loyalty or wallets are also supported. It also meets the latest hardware & software security standards such as PCI PTS 3.x & SRED.

Beyond its comprehensive range of payment application possibilities, the iSC Touch 480 is a powerful interactive solution enabling merchants to put together a unique set of business applications such as brand promotion, consumer enrolment, consumer surveys, lane item display, online one-click purchase, loyalty applications, contract signature, check-in, check-out or money deposit. With iSC Touch 480, retailers will provide a unique shopping experience that sets them apart from the competition and sets a new frontier in consumer engagement.

As a consequence of the fast development of touchscreen interfaces and of retailer cross-channel strategies leading to more personalization, consumers are more and more demanding of services at the checkout. A study done by the Retail magazine in May 2012 revealed that 60% of them were expecting more innovative services at lane checkout and 25% at self-checkout. Therefore, we believe that with the combined value of payment apps and business apps, the iSC Touch 480 solution offers retailers the opportunity to reinvent the traditional checkout and rethink consumer engagement at the point of sale" says Guillaume Pascal, VP of Global Solutions Marketing at Ingenico.

The iSC Touch 480 is a fundamental step in our retail strategy in the US. Combined with the iSC Touch 250 and 350, it constitutes a unique multilane POS range, providing coverage for the whole market place. During the design phase we actually sought customer input and the dual contactless reader option whether integrated or external was a key learning of this initial phase," Commented Thierry Denis, President of Ingenico, North America "Such a customer driven approach and the full compatibility of applications with the other existing Telium 2 devices, can explain the extraordinary market traction we already feel for our new flagship product".
