Trayport, a leading supplier of electronic trading systems, today announced Dan Smith as the company's new product manager.

The promotion follows Trayport's recent product realignment, which addresses the key requirements of Trayport’s user communities of Brokers, Exchanges and Traders.

As product manager, Dan's main role will be to expand the capability of each of the products in-line with the needs of Trayport's customers, the requirements of the marketplace, and Trayport's overall development cycle. This will see him meeting regularly with prospects and clients to further understand their individual business requirements and incorporate these in the future direction of the products.

Dan joined Trayport in October 2003 as a senior software engineer and was promoted to product manager earlier this year, reporting directly to Trayport's CEO Edmund Hor. He brings 13 years of development, team leadership and project management expertise from his previous roles in the transportation, utilities and telecoms sectors. This includes managing large scale mission critical projects at General Electric and Harris Communications.

"It's important that we fully understand each of our client's requirements but at the same time align our development with our different marketplaces. Dan's role is central to the continued success and future direction of GlobalVision," said Edmund Hor, MD of Trayport. "He will help in our aim to continue to deliver high performance, high quality products."
