Precidia certifies payments system to First Data

Precidia Technologies today announced that it has certified its integrated payment solution to First Data, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, allowing Canadian point-of-sale (POS) software developers and vendors using Precidia's solution to enable EMV (chip and PIN) compliant payments to connect to First Data for transaction processing.

Precidia's integrated payment solution delivers secure PCI PA-DSS compliant, fully managed payment processing for credit, debit, gift and loyalty cards. This solution takes POS software out of scope for PCI PA-DSS. For developers, this means that meeting this requirement, which applies to all software that handles payments, is simplified. For Canadian POS software developers, Precidia's solution simplifies the process of EMV compliance as well, resulting in faster time to market for their software, including this critical compliance.

This feature-rich solution offers merchants a web portal to view all their transactions in near real time. Full deployment services are included. The PIN pad is shipped directly to the site and remotely configured on first power up with minimal effort on the part of the dealer. Alerts are offered that will indicate to the merchant when the batch was settled and for how much.

"This solution helped Factor One get our POS system to market faster than any other EMV offering we have encountered," said Jason Deyholos of Factor One, a provider of retail POS systems and software for retail and restaurant applications.

The solution is offered to users of all sizes ranging from single POS lane systems, right up to large multi-lane, multi-location retailers.

"This is just one of a range of innovative solutions Precidia is delivering to the Canadian payments market," said Deepak Wanner, president, Precidia Payments." We are pleased to be working with First Data, an industry leader that understands and leverages technology to benefit their customers".
