CGI Group, a provider of information technology and business process services, announced today that Siam Commercial Bank of Thailand has selected Logica All Payments Solution (LAPS) to deliver a centralised hub for low value payments.

Thailand's first bank will benefit from a flexible and modern solution that will reduce operating costs and remove inefficient legacy systems.

"As part of our Change Programme - to be the bank of choice for our customers, shareholders, employees and the community - we evaluated all of the technology that was central to our organisation," said Parnkae Nandavisai, First Executive Vice President, Siam Commercial Bank. "CGI's expertise in the [low value] payments space, coupled with its outstanding references, cemented our decision to choose LAPS after we reviewed the top solutions in the market."

SCB is capitalising on first mover advantage by restructuring its existing operations to increase efficiency and flexibility. With LAPS, the bank will be able to increase automation levels, enabling real-time and more streamlined payments processing to improve service levels and drive down costs.

"Banks shouldn't settle for a one-size fits all approach when it comes to managing payments and improving customer relations," said Richard Davies, Director, Asia-Pacific, CGI. "SCB needed a fit for purpose, tailored solution to cope with current and increasing payments volumes. With LAPS, SCB will support both their current and future clients, through delivering outstanding products and services."
