Bank Pekao's traders will use Valdi to help improve and monitor order flows and provide a sales trading service. The bank will also implement Valdi's gateways to the WSE to link its core banking system and its online retail trading platform to the exchange.

Piotr Teleon, deputy head of Pekao Brokerage House, said, "We have used SunGard's solutions since the Warsaw Stock Exchange implemented the WARSET trading system in 2000. Now Valdi will help us move to the next stage of our development, support business strategies we may choose in the future and help us leverage the opportunities available on other developed trading venues."

Philippe Carré, global head of connectivity for SunGard's capital markets business, said, "SunGard is helping financial institutions and their clients across the Central and Eastern European region by expanding its connectivity to exchanges and brokers. In addition, our cost-efficient solutions can be easily integrated into existing and complex technical frameworks."
