SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Aareal Bank, one of the leading international property specialists, has implemented the SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP NetWeaver BW) application powered by the SAP Hana platform.
Headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany, with business activities throughout Europe, North America and Asia, Aareal Bank aims to improve the efficiency of its IT reporting environment. The implementation was completed on time and on budget. The announcement was made at the International SAP Conference for Banking 2012, being held June 18-20 in London.
SAP NetWeaver BW powered by SAP HANA consolidates data from SAP applications and external data sources into a single format. As a result, Aareal Bank can benefit from a homogenous, enterprise-wide database that allows easy access to information. All the data necessary for corporate reporting are stored, processed and accelerated in the SAP HANA database. Additionally, SAP HANA uses compression algorithms and data structures that can minimize the memory capacity needed. Aareal Bank was able to reduce its storage requirements by more than tenfold.
Aareal Bank employees using the solution benefit from accelerated response times and greater insight into the business. The user-friendly solution now enables them to obtain the information needed without support from the IT department. Reports can be created quicker and employees are in a position to make informed decisions faster with the help of SAP HANA.
"The speed is impressive and contributes to a significant increase in efficiency," said Johannes Rumpf, IT manager, Aareal Bank. "On average, response times are reduced by a factor of 4. With a projected timeframe of 10 weeks, the migration took place in two working days. The SAP development team provided outstanding support here at Aareal Bank."
