Coverity, the development testing leader, announced today that Aviva, a leading international provider of insurance products and services, has selected Coverity development testing as part of its strategic software quality initiatives across its UK General Insurance (GI) Division in order to further enhance its customer experience.
"Customer Experience is really important to Aviva, whether directly through our own online offerings or via those of our financial services and retail partners," said Ben Riches, Head of Application Design and Delivery at Aviva UK GI division. "We are actively driving a focus on quality throughout the software development lifecycle, and development testing represents a key enabler in our ability to uplift the quality of our IT solutions and online services, and ultimately our customer satisfaction and brand. We work with a number of development partners across the globe and have selected Coverity to manage quality across this global software supply chain."
Aviva has chosen Coverity's end-to-end development testing platform, including the industry flagship product for finding critical defects in development, Coverity Static Analysis, as well as Coverity Architecture Analysis for architecture visualisation, Coverity Integrity Manager for developer collaboration, and Coverity® Integrity Control for policy management and code governance. Ultimately, the Coverity development testing platform will provide benefits to the software development, Quality Assurance (QA) and senior management team including accelerated time-to-market and cost reduction.
In addition, the Coverity solution integrates seamlessly with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) 11.0 on SaaS. This integration delivered via the cloud will provide Aviva with a new level of visibility into development by incorporating code quality into the overall definition and view of application quality, as well as help unite development and QA through shared visibility into development related defects and quality issues. This will ultimately help reduce the risk of application quality issues in production, without increasing development time, cost or agility.
"Development testing is a driving force behind Aviva UK's transformation of its software development, delivery and QA functions in order to further enhance the Customer Experience across its direct and indirect sales channels," said Jennifer Johnson, VP of Marketing at Coverity. "Innovation through software has become the primary means of competitive advantage in the Insurance market and software quality is therefore critical to customer satisfaction and brand. Companies can no longer wait to test for quality issues during the QA phase at the end of the software development cycle, or worse, let them escape into the field. Testing for quality issues must be addressed at the source by developers, as the code is being written. Aviva is a transformational company in the way it is driving quality throughout its software development process and with its software supply chain of offshore teams. We applaud Aviva for its innovation."
