HKEx will offer Hosting Services at its NGDC in Hong Kong's Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate from Q4 2012. HKEx aims to cultivate a financial services ecosystem consisting of exchange participants, information vendors, technology vendors, and telecommunication providers as members. This ecosystem approach will allow market participants to subscribe to a comprehensive set of services offered by ecosystem members within HKEx's NGDC.

With this appointment, KVH will add a new network point of presence (POP) at the HKEx's NGDC and offer its ultra low-latency network services for market participants starting from Q4 2012. KVH will also provide colocation services as well as managed hosting services in the same data center.

KVH launched its first POP in Hong Kong in October 2008 and has been expanding the geographic reach of its low-latency network in major financial markets in Asia and the US including Tokyo, Chicago, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Busan, and Sydney.
"We welcome KVH into the Hosting Services Founding Member Programme and look forward to the network services and trading infrastructure capabilities they will bring to our HostingServices Ecosystem" noted Ryan Wuebbels, Head of Relationship Management of HKEx.

Richard Warley, President and CEO of KVH said, "We are very pleased that HKEx has selected KVH for its Hosting Service Founding Members Program. We see a lot of interest and momentum in high-frequency trading in Asia from our customers as exchanges here adopt next generation high-speed trading engines. KVH is committed to serving the needs of financial customers with reliable low-latency infrastructure and continues to invest in this field to expand its geographic reach and service portfolio."

Separately, MarketPrizm, a leading provider of market data and trading infrastructure services today announced it has been selected by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited into the Exchange Founding Members rs Programme, reinforcing the company's presence in Asia Pacific for ultra low latency infrastructure and market data services.

The Founding Members Programme is designed to allow select hosting ecosystem service providers to participate in the early set-up of the hosting ecosystem at HKEx's Next Generation Data Centre (NGDC). As a Founding Member, MarketPrizm will have early access to the new Data Centre and will establish a colocation footprint to provide market data and hosting services to customers from the Exchange Data Centre in Q4, 2012.

MarketPrizm is building on its extensive experience and deployment in Europe to bring these same benefits to Asia with the first deployments at the TSE, OSE, Chi-X Japan, ASX, Chi-X Australia and SGX. Phase 2 markets will include Hong Kong, India and Korea. In each market MarketPrizm will offer ultra low latency market data feeds and order entry to the main trading venues, plus co-location, hosting and remote management services. Customers will be able to source data from both the local markets and international markets into their co-located facilities via PrizmNet Asia. All data can be provided in the MarketPrizm normalized form, reducing further the costs of deployment into multiple markets.

Tanuja Randery, CEO of MarketPrizm said, "We are very pleased to have been selected into this Programme. It reinforces our commitment to Asia Pacific and to enabling our customers to reach multiple markets through our trading ecosystem. HKEx has welcomed us into their ecosystem and we look forward to bringing clients to the Exchange when the new DC goes live."
