The improvement in data quality is expected to enhance member service and advance marketing conversion.

"Data hygiene has always been important from a direct-marketing perspective," said Fred Hagerman, chief marketing officer at Firstmark Credit Union. "We want to ensure our contact data is as accurate as possible so we can keep in touch with past and current members. This saves us time and money while ensuring we maintain good communications with our membership base."

The Experian QAS products will be used for loan origination and deposits, as well as by IT to cleanse existing information regularly. The tools are expected to reduce the amount of returned mail resulting from the 300,000 pieces of mail the credit union sends annually. In addition, address verification is expected to improve the data entry process and aid in long-term data quality improvements.

"Accurate contact data allows credit unions to provide a high level of service while maintaining operational efficiency," said David Northridge, vice president of client retention, Experian QAS. "By ensuring data is accurate as it is entered, credit unions can be confident that information is received by members on the first attempt, rather than having to spend additional time reworking information and hurting member service efforts."
