WorldRemit, an international online money transfer business, has launched a new online money transfer service that enables the Nigerian diaspora to send money back home using a wide variety of payment options including debit cards, credit cards and Interac Online (Canada).

In partnership with eTranzact International Plc, Nigeria's first award-winning payment processing platform, the new service offers instant bank deposits into bank accounts of 19 leading Nigerian banks or cash pick-up from an extensive network of payout locations. The service provides unprecedented convenience and speed to Nigerian diaspora members.

"For the first time, we have made it possible for a Nigerian sitting in his home or office in the UK or Canada to transfer funds into a bank account in a matter of minutes," said Ismail Ahmed, CEO of WorldRemit. "While cross-border transfers, even within Europe can take days, Nigeria has achieved faster payments thanks to the country's move towards a cashless economy."

The new online money transfer service offers compelling benefits to hard-working Nigerians who on average spend more than one hour travelling to and from agent locations to send small regular transfers. From the privacy and convenience of their home or office, they can now transfer money 24/7. All they require is internet access.

"eTranzact has made funds transfer services a reliable service through cutting edge technology that recognizes the specific needs of both banked and unbanked recipients," said Valentine Obi, MD of eTranzact International Plc. "We enable recipients who do not have bank accounts to withdraw funds from any ATM machine without the use of a physical ATM card".
