Brazil's Cielo deploys secure payments network with NewNet

Cielo S.A. (BM&FBOVESPA: CIEL3/OTC: CIOXY), the leading merchant acquirer and payment processor in Brazil and one of the top five payment processors in the world, announced today that it has selected NewNet's TraxcomSecure Total Control 1000 (TC1000) Secure Transaction Processing platform for the nationwide rollout of its next generation payments processing network.

Spread nationwide, Cielo's transaction network Points-of-Presence (POP's) are located in 14 states in Brazil. NewNet's TC1000 systems will be deployed in multiple locations at each POP to meet the high capacity, throughput and performance requirements of Cielo's network. This high-speed transaction network has the capability to handle several billion transactions per year and will enable Cielo to further strengthen its leadership position in merchant acquiring and payment transaction processing.

NewNet's payment processing product portfolio includes dial, broadband and mobile payment solutions on the TC1000 and AccessGuard platforms. These solutions enable mobile and wireline carriers, payment processors and acquirers, and financial application providers to expand traditional payment transaction services into the mobile and broadband universe. Carriers can deliver new and innovative payment services on mobile phones, Bluetooth-enabled devices, NFC equipped mobiles, tablets, and other mobile devices with card readers.

The NewNet Total Control 1000 Trax 2.5 system offers the market-leading solution for dial-based carrier class transaction network services to service providers, merchant acquirers and payment processors. The recently enhanced payments platform provides specialized software to enable faster transaction processing of credit card and debit card authorizations, fund transfers, and health and other electronic benefit transfers. The high-density TC1000 platform speeds transaction times with features such as Fast Connect, and supports transaction protocols such as VISA I/II, ISO 8583, TPDU as well as several custom protocols.

The NewNet AccessGuard platform provides the required end-to-end security features for mobile and broadband payment transaction processing, including SSL acceleration and offloading, digital certificates, and state-of-the-art DUKPT powered encryption and decryption. Secure connectivity to host processor systems is provided using IPsec. The AccessGuard portfolio of products supports a broad variety of industry standards and vendor-proprietary payment protocols, including Visa I/II, ISO 8583 and TPDU, enabling interoperability between client protocols and host processor protocols. Innovative applications and carrier services such as mobile wallet, Smart Cash and mobile money transfers can be delivered using the AccessGuard platforms.
