CNT wins $1 million disaster recovery services contract

CNT, the global expert in storage networking solutions, today announced it has won a $1 million contract from an Eastern United States diversified financial services organisation to implement a disaster recovery solution for its mission-critical trading application.

The contract includes multiple UltraNet Edge Storage Routers, UltraNet Multi-service Directors (UMD), UltraNet Storage Directors – eXtended (USD – X), along with remote management, implementation and maintenance services. The customer chose CNT because of its expertise in overcoming the challenges of implementing an extended disk and tape solution in a mixed ESCON and FICON environment. CNT's knowledge of these environments and how to migrate from ESCON to FICON will allow this customer to implement the mirroring solution today and have the ability to migrate to an exclusive FICON environment later.

This business also needed to maintain tight recovery windows in order to remain competitive and meet Federal requirements for data protection. CNT's solution will allow this customer to meet stringent recovery windows, while also ensuring that the trading records are safe and secure. The disaster recovery site will be located over 600 miles away from the corporate headquarters.

"Customers rely on CNT for our expertise in extending and protecting their most mission critical information," said Tom Hudson, CNT's President and CEO. "This recent win highlights how we can best serve customers with complete solutions: we can extend their information across any distance through our UltraNet Edge and USD-X products as well as provide a large scale director, the UMD, for mixed mainframe and open systems environments. And our services give customers the reliability and complete solution they’ve come to rely on from CNT."
