"Our objective is to simplify and accelerate the system integration of payment devices with Point of Sale (POS) and cash register systems, especially for our multi-national retail customers. Hypercom has been key for us to bring our solution to many corners of the globe, not just in the US but also in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. Our partnership with Hypercom demonstrates our joint commitment to providing retailers with alternative forms of payment system integrations. Even today, US retailers still have too many problems with PCI, and by using Global Blue's OneInterfaceTM system integration tool in conjunction with a Hypercom payment device, customers can easily simplify their PCI compliance whilst enjoying the many benefits of semi-integration into their POS," said Michael Balzer, Senior Vice President, Global Blue. "Several well-known high-end luxury retailers are already on-board, and demand is strong."

"Global Blue is the preeminent provider of services that drive business to their merchant customers, and their selection of Hypercom is a strong endorsement that recognizes our products' competitive advantages and will reinforce our already significant footprint," said David Cronin, President and Managing Director, North America, Hypercom Corporation. "We are delighted to join with this global leader to help enhance the cardholder experience and boost retailer bottom lines."

Global Blue's OneInterface systems integration tool streamlines and simplifies the way in which retail point-of-sale business systems connect to payment devices, such as those offered by Hypercom. OneInterface relieves the point-of-sale business system of payment-related responsibilities such as device and estate management, processor and gateway communication, and most importantly PCI scope. Devices such as the Hypercom Optimum T4220 receive smart commands from the OneInterfaceTM application and send authorization and settlement messages directly to the processor or bank. There is no need for any sensitive data to reside in or transmit via the point-of-sale business system, keeping this environment segregated from sensitive data. Global Blue and Hypercom have worked together to optimize the integration of their applications, providing retailers and systems integrators a strong, viable alternative to traditional gateway installations for card payments.
