NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) announced that BP PetroChina Petroleum Co., a joint venture of BP and PetroChina Company Limited, has installed NCR RealPOS 30 point-of-sale (POS) terminals in all of its Express convenience store locations across China's Guangdong province.

BP PetroChina currently operates 382 retail service stations in Guangdong, 200 of which include Express convenience stores.

"The NCR RealPOS 30, which was introduced in China in 2004, offers a combination of value and performance that is ideal for the operations of many Greater China retailers," said Luke Lu, general manager, Greater China Area, for NCR's Retail Solutions Division. "As China's retail petroleum and convenience store industries continue expanding, NCR is well-positioned to meet this market's growing need for store-automation solutions."

The value-priced NCR RealPOS 30 provides the reliability and stability of a retail-hardened POS terminal with the performance and flexibility of industry-standard PC technology. Offering a compact, space-saving design, the terminal can be configured as a diskless thin-client or full-function disk-based POS system. It provides interfaces for serial- and USB-based retail peripherals and includes a powered printer port for improved cable management.
