Following a comprehensive evaluation process, Corvil was selected and used to measure the latency of Nomura's platform at 2.8 microseconds, creating a new benchmark for trading system speed in Europe.
Nomura deployed CorvilNet for complete monitoring of NXT Direct, which offers co-located software hosting and ultra fast connectivity to major exchanges and MTFs in Europe. The platform also delivers a seamless integration with Nomura's NXT products incorporating market access, market data and order routing. CorvilNet is deployed to monitor latency within Nomura's NXT Host co-location infrastructure and all aspects of network latency and performance between co-location sites across Nomura's proprietary dark fiber network.
Andrew Bowley, Head of Electronic Product, EMEA said, "Nomura has made significant investments to develop NXT Direct and to grow our market share across all European equities. Demonstrating the true latency performance of NXT Direct and assuring the lowest latency for our clients is crucial. Since deploying Corvil technology we have been able to keep latency and loss at negligible levels for clients who benefit from high performance execution."
Corvil technology measures and reports on latency in real-time for all order transaction flows, market data feeds, and network speed and performance. This unique approach enables the immediate identification of the root-cause of latency, whether it is in the network or application layer. For client order flow, CorvilNet provides nanosecond-precision latency visibility on every packet, message and transaction. This makes it much more efficient to handle customer queries on trading latency or missed fills, with quick and flexible access to days, weeks or months of trading records.
"Nomura's NXT Ultra Low Latency Trading Platform provides groundbreaking connectivity to major exchanges and MTFs throughout Europe. We are delighted not only to strengthen our relationship with Nomura but also that CorvilNet was used to validate the performance of their advanced execution technology to latency sensitive clients," said Corvil CEO, Donal Byrne.
