SunGard boosts processing speed for asset managers and servicers

SunGard has completed an optimization project for its Asset Arena solution suite, as part of a two-year project which improved transaction processing speed by up to 85% for its asset management and asset servicing customers.

SunGard's open systems platforms utilize multiple CPUs to help customers shorten investment accounting cycles and reduce operating costs Asset Arena's open architecture helps deliver improved transaction rates to its investment accounting customers without the need for costly code changes or service disruptions. Transaction rates for fund valuation have been decreased by 85% on average, giving firms the ability to process seven times more business within the same timeframe. SunGard stress-tested these systems at volumes of over two billion transactions, without any decrease in speed of processing, thus validating the scalability of the system architecture for the world's largest asset managers and servicers.

The move to open systems was achieved using UniKix hosting technology from Clerity, a leading provider of mainframe migration, modernization and optimization solutions.
