Bank of Hebei is one of China's first five urban cooperative banks and is the oldest and largest city commercial bank in the Hebei province. With more than 100 branches and 60 billion Renminbi (RMB) in assets (approximately $10 billion), Bank of Hebei is positioned to expand into more cities across the country. The bank provides corporate and personal banking services including deposits, consumer lending, credit cards and trade financing.

eCAS2 is a customer-centric and high-volume universal banking platform designed specifically for banks in China. It supports double-byte character sets and offers continual online, real-time services to customers regardless of end-of day processing or other batch cycles. The solution is currently deployed at 13 banks in China.

Bank of Hebei selected eCAS2 because of the platform's ability to support the bank's rapid growth plans as it expands from its origins as a single-city commercial bank into an operation with a strong regional presence. The platform supports a hierarchical branch structure, which allows the bank to quickly bring new financial products to market and provides enhanced operational risk controls. With the deployment of eCAS2, Bank of Hebei has successfully integrated data from numerous legacy sub-systems, including loans, payments and cards, to significantly ease consolidation and analysis of customer information and improve opportunities for cross-selling.

"We wanted to expand our scale of operations quickly and launch innovative new products more easily without sacrificing our reputation for delivering high-quality customer service," said Mr. Tong Wang, IT Department head, Bank of Hebei. "With FIS and eCAS2, we have a superior software platform and a partner with a profound understanding of the Chinese banking business. This combination is critical to our success within China's competitive financial services market."

"The deployment of eCAS2 at Bank of Hebei confirms FIS as a leading international banking technology solutions provider in China," said Raja Gopalakrishnan, managing director, Asia, FIS. "eCAS2 has a reputation in China for reliability, performance and best-in-class functionality. We're excited to enter into this new relationship with the Bank of Hebei and look forward to working with them as they expand their presence in the market."
