T8 Webware, a provider of Web development, management and hosting services for the financial industry, today announced the launch of Illinois-based First Federal Savings Bank's new website.

The bank selected T8 Webware to transform its site into a true marketing tool with relevant and timely information.

First Federal Savings Bank wanted to manage its site maintenance internally because it required a significant time commitment to coordinate changes or explain image placement to designers with an outside vendor. After evaluating local and national design firms, the bank enlisted T8 Webware to create a site that would be more navigable, with a stronger design aesthetic and no barriers to dynamic content. It valued T8 Webware's overall development capabilities, security, proven track record with other financial institutions as well as knowledge of the community bank industry.

"Our customers turn to the Web for information on products and services because it is convenient and can be done on their own time, and we want that to parlay into our banking site as well," explained Ata Durukan, senior vice president of human resources and marketing, First Federal Savings Bank. "Bankers must realize that every website has much more potential than an online banking venue. The true ROI for a Web investment is found in the ability to effectively market and cross sell our services."

T8 Webware's content management system, FREEDOM8, enables First Federal Savings Bank to modify website text and images in minutes while maintaining FFIEC guidelines and FDIC functional compliance. FREEDOM8 makes online site maintenance administrator driven, allowing financial institutions to keep content current and relevant. This functionality has granted First Federal Savings Bank the ability to offer interactive rate boards for lending and other products, as well as frequently refresh information and graphics on available promotions. Durukan added, "We envisioned this new site to be an interactive point of contact for customers and a focal point of the bank's marketing initiatives. T8 Webware's flexible, easy-to-use platform enabled us to accomplish both goals."

"First Federal Savings Bank, like many financial institutions today, was not looking to simply redesign its website, but rather develop another channel through which it could effectively communicate with and market to its customers," said Wade Arnold, CEO of T8 Webware. "The bank's messages about culture and commitment to community were always very prominent in its online messaging. Now it can keep this messaging and act on its values and enhanced services at the same time."
