GlobalPlatform, the organization which standardizes the management of applications on secure chip technology, has announced its Board of Directors for fiscal year 2011, following annual elections for six of the eleven Board seats. Individual members to serve as Board Officers for a one-year team have also been confirmed.
After serving as GlobalPlatform's Vice-Chair for five years Marc Kekicheff, Senior Business Leader of Chip Innovation within the Technology Office at Visa Inc. has now been appointed to Chairman of the organization. Uwe Wittig, Group Vice-President within the Payment Division of the Cards and Services Business Unit at Giesecke & Devrient has been elected as Vice-Chair. Yves Moulart, Director of Development and Innovation within STMicroelectronics' Secure MCUs Division, Secure Software Solutions retains his position as GlobalPlatform's Secretary / Treasurer for the fourth consecutive year.
Six Board seats were open for election. In addition to Marc Kekicheff and Uwe Wittig, each of the following individuals were elected to serve a two year term:
• Jerome Becquart, Senior Vice-President of Products and Services - ActivIdentity
• Richard Orth, Director of Technology Architecture - American Express
• Eikazu Niwano, Senior Research Engineer in the Service Integration Laboratories - NTT Corporation
• Jean-Loup Dépinay, Program Manager, Research & Development Fundings (collaborative projects) - Oberthur Technologies
