Debuting just in time for the holiday shopping season, Chase GiftShelf is an innovative new gifting experience that is fun and easy to use. The free application facilitates mobile gift card purchases from an array of merchants and allows Chase credit cardmembers to send a gift card to anyone instantly via text message or email. Multiple top retailers and restaurants are participating in this pilot launch, with additional retailers expected to join in soon.

"We know that mobile device usage is higher than ever, and by launching Chase GiftShelf, we are giving customers a personal and convenient gifting option whether they are at home or on the go," said Rob Rosenblatt, general manager, Customer Loyalty, Chase Card Services. "GiftShelf is an example of how Chase is working to create a world-class customer experience, and is exactly the type of cutting edge technology we strive to offer our cardmembers."

Chase GiftShelf allows users to:

* Browse for gift cards from a diverse and growing set of retailers and restaurants, including: The Home Depot®, The Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, Athleta, Lands' End, Chili's Grill & Bar Restaurant, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, Maggiano's Little Italy, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Uno Chicago Grill, CVS/pharmacy, Papa John's, The Container Store, Ninety Nine Restaurant and Finale Desserterie & Bakery;
* Create a personalized message tailored to the occasion, be it "Happy Holidays," "Thank You" or "I'm Sorry" and attach it to the gift; and
* Pay for the gift card with a Chase credit card or with Chase Ultimate RewardsSM points.

Gift card recipients can use their cards in-store or online instantly with a smart phone or, in some instances, a printed copy of the confirmation email, creating a spontaneous gifting experience. The use of a smart phone for redemption is based on merchant participation, and the gift card instructions will clearly state if the option is available. Available through the Apple iTunes App Store, Chase GiftShelf is currently compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Chase GiftShelf incorporates a high level of security and encryption technologies similar to ones utilized in Chase's mobile banking application and does not store any personal or account information on the device.

Chase GiftShelf is powered by CashStar, Inc., the digital gifting and incentives company. CashStar's platform provides Chase with an innovative, on-demand mobile gifting and incentive solution, which enables Chase cardmembers to easily purchase an eGift card using a Chase credit card or Chase Ultimate Rewards points.

"We are always looking to offer our customers more convenient access to solutions and Chase GiftShelf helps us do just that," said Margery P. Hurlbut, Customer Solutions Director at The Container Store. "The app enables us to extend our digital gift card offering while giving consumers an easy-to-use mobile option to send gift cards by using their Chase credit card or redeeming their reward points."
