"The USHCC selected Heartland because of the comprehensive, tailored electronic payment solutions it offers; its fair, fully disclosed pricing; payments industry insight; and vast trade association experience," said Javier Palomarez, USHCC president and chief executive officer. "Our membership will benefit greatly from the expertise and service Heartland provides."
"Our goal is to upgrade and control the costs of credit and debit card acceptance for every USHCC member," detailed Bob Carr, Heartland's chairman and chief executive officer. "Heartland's pricing model ― combined with our national sales and servicing organization of payments specialists, many of whom are Spanish-speaking, and our proprietary processing platforms ― enables us to do this."
Heartland's pricing model features true interchange-plus pricing: all bankcard interchange and fees assessed by the card brands are passed through to business owners without mark-up of any kind. Heartland brought this pricing method that typically only benefitted large corporations to small and mid-sized businesses when it was founded in 1997. In line with this kind of merchant advocacy, Heartland founded the Merchant Bill of Rights, a public advocacy initiative that protects the rights of business owners and helps them control the costs and complexities of payments processing.
"We look forward to jointly introducing the USHCC program to affiliate chambers throughout the country and helping USHCC members grow and improve their businesses," concluded Carr.
