Eventus Investment Partners, a private options fund, has expanded its relationship with SunGard by implementing Valdi Options Enterprise Risk Manager (ERM) and Valdi Execution Management System (EMS) to complement its existing use of SunGard's Valdi Options Risk Analytics.
Valdi provides Eventus with execution and risk management for options products and greater connectivity to options exchanges. A comprehensive suite of solutions from one provider helps Eventus achieve greater efficiency and cost savings.
Eventus has also enrolled in the Valdi Shares Rewards program, giving it the ability to earn credits towards its use of SunGard's trading solutions. For example, with Valdi Shares Rewards Eventus can use its increase in order flow as "currency" to offset its technology costs when it executes or clears trades through SunGard's execution and clearing solutions.
The past year has brought many changes to the options industry, pressuring firms that trade options to focus heavily on the quality of trade execution and on keeping pace with market volatility. In an effort to more precisely mitigate risk and reduce costs, firms like Eventus are seeking integrated solutions to manage risk and reduce their technology spend.
Valdi Options Risk Analytics, a customizable, real-time options trading platform for managing risk and viewing volatility for options, integrates with Valdi Options ERM to help Eventus manage risk from positions in listed options, including large portfolios. Eventus also uses SunGard's Valdi EMS, a multi-asset hosted trading station for direct market access, to manage and execute options trades on the SunGard Global Network, a trade automation and connectivity solution that provides access to over 110 markets worldwide.
