Citibank Thailand today announced the launch of an innovative mobile service called "Citi Locator," which allows its customers to search for Citibank World Privileges (CWP) offers, available in 27 countries, through their iPhones.
The debut is a milestone for the local financial services industry, and offers Citibank customers added convenience.
Citi Locator utilizes GPS technology embedded in all models of the iPhone to enable searches. In Thailand or other countries, customers can now easily find special offers by using the "Search Nearby" function. They can also select "Search by Location" as well as specify preferred merchant categories, including dining, shopping, sport and travel. Customers who travel often will find city- and country-specific search functions for 27 major countries.
Yuenyong Ken Songsiridej, Country Marketing Director, Citibank, N.A., said: "We continually strive to develop alternative servicing channels to serve the rising demand of our customer especially through online and mobile channels which fit well with their on-the-go lifestyles. We have seen rapid growth in mobile internet usage, with approximately 12 million current users in the country. This launch complements Citibank Online and Mobile, which provide not only easier accessibility to banking services but its smart and user friendly search function of credit card benefits at customers' convenience as well. With this latest development apart from Citi Alerts and Citi Mobile introduced last year, we target to increase the number of users to 20 percent by year-end."
