FERNBACH Software, a specialist provider of Risk and Compliance solutions announced today benchmark study results for its market-leading Liquidity Risk Appliance which enables banks to process a sample portfolio by the end-of-day processing window.

The internal benchmarking uses Liquidity Risk Appliance in conjunction with industry-leading HP ProLiant BL460c G6 blade servers powered by Intel Xeon 5500 Series processors (4 Socket Quad-Core 2.93GHz) with 36 GB RAM to process a portfolio of 525,000 deals, which generated over 65 million cash flows covering a number of instruments in two hours and 37 minutes.

The Liquidity Risk Appliance enables customers to easily and quickly deploy an end-to-end liquidity management solution that can help them meet the new FSA liquidity risk regulations within the specified deadline. The concept of this common program incorporates easily customisable stress scenarios, liquidity analysis blueprints and all required statutory report templates. It has been validated in production environments, can be quickly deployed and is available for immediate distribution to financial clients in the UK and worldwide.

Mike Hamm, Managing Director at FERNBACH-Software, said, "We are committed to providing our clients state-of-the-art finance & risk management solutions which deliver, both, optimum functionality and top performance. Our work with HP and Intel enabled us to test and benchmark our offerings, thus, tangibly demonstrating and validating the world class processing efficiency and seamless scalability of this solution."

Nigel Woodward, Worldwide Financial Services Director at Intel, said, "We are pleased to support the FERNBACH appliance approach which simplifies installation of the solution and therefore timely alignment with the new regulations. Paying attention to performance testing on selected target infrastructure technologies from HP and Intel ensures that the elements are compatible, optimised and appropriate for the job. Today we clearly demonstrate that our low cost industry standard computing can address the market's data intensive risk analysis requirements - and hence remove barriers to improving control of risk exposure."

"Financial services clients require cost-effective, end-to-end solutions that speed aggregation of data in order to reduce risk and meet compliance regulations," said McLeod Glass, Director of Marketing, Industry Standard Servers, HP. "HP ProLiant servers, in conjunction with FERNBACH-Software's Liquidity Risk Appliance, deliver high levels of performance to address the evolving risk analysis and compliance needs of financial institutions."
