Rapadev, LLC, the development company behind ProcessAway, has released iPay POS Credit Card Terminal for iPhone.

"Since we released our innovative solution back in 2008, there has been a proliferation of credit card apps in the AppStore," states Randy Palermo, Member of Rapadev, LLC and lead developer. "While they all essentially do the same thing, they have restrictions or shortcomings to their operation. Most competing Apps require you to use a specific merchant account provider or gateway, or they don't have a card reader available, or they are not PA-DSS certified. We developed iPay POS to address these issues."

The software performs captures, authorizations, voids and credits. It utilizes multiple database tables for recording transactions and repeating sale information, such as order, shipping, and customer info. There is also an option to add a gratuity to the final charge.

iPay POS supports many gateways, including gateways outside the United States. A partial listing of supported gateways include: Authorize.net, NMI, Ogone, PayLeap, PayJunction, PayPal Payments Pro, RedFin, Skipjack and PayTrace. Gateways that wish to be included in iPay POS should submit their API documentation to Rapadev for inclusion in a future update.

Rapadev has worked closely with ITSCO to have iPay POS be the first Apple sanctioned application for the iMag Magnetic Swipe Reader for iPhone. The iMag is a secure MSR capable of reading up to three tracks with a bi-directional swipe. The reader is available for ordering directly within iPay POS or at http://cardreaderstore.com.

iPay POS has been coded to strict PCI standards and has undergone PA-DSS testing. The software has passed PA-DSS certification. "It was important for us to make the investment in PA-DSS certification," continues Mr. Palermo. "If a merchant uses a non PA-DSS certified application, that merchant is opening him/herself up to possible liability issues if any sort of fraud or other security breach happens, even if the merchant or application had nothing to do with the incident. When a customer looking for someone to place blame on asks a merchant using iPay POS if their card was processed on a certified secure application, that merchant can confidently say yes."

iPay POS Credit Card Terminal is available in the Apple AppStore as a free download. The application comes with the ability to perform unlimited test transactions and 10 live transactions. Additional transactions may be acquired with an In-App purchase.
