Atrium Network, provider of smarter connectivity for the financial community, today announced that FXCM has joined Atrium Network's global extranet to provide connectivity from FXCM's data centre in Bergen, New Jersey to Atrium Network's POPs (points of presence) located in New York and New Jersey.

In line with Atrium Network's strategy to build its global presence, the firm invests in co-locating its POPs (Points of Presence) within key financial data centres throughout Europe, North and South America. As demand for complex cross-asset class trading continues to continue, firms require one simple connection to Atrium Network to gain access to many pools of FX liquidity, confident that easily-permissioned, readily-scalable bandwidth is available to accommodate both current trading volumes and future requirements.

Commenting on FXCM's decision to join the Atrium Network community, Emmanuel Pellé, COO at Atrium Network said, "We have built our global platform into key financial data centres throughout Europe and the Americas and continually invest in our network to ensure the underlying platform fabric uses the lowest latency paths amongst these centres. We are delighted that FXCM has selected our network to provide connectivity for its community of users who stand to benefit from access to multiple venues across a growing range of asset classes. We believe that offering simple, low latency connectivity to the FX market is a key differentiator and gives participants a clear trading advantage."

Ivan Brightly, CIO of FXCM added, "We look to specialists to help provide and support connectivity amongst our trading counterparties and we see Atrium Network as an important addition to the number of incumbent connectivity providers we currently use. Atrium Network's ability to connect trading participants to as wide a range of liquidity pools as possible all through a simple point of connectivity means our clients benefit from access to venues regardless of location. If a venue moves or closes down, Atrium Network simply transfers a seamless connection so participants trading efforts are never inconvenienced. Additionally, Atrium Network's use of multi-gigabit connectivity means additional participants and bandwidth can be allocated quiickly without carrier delays."
