Siemens Business Services Austria has signed a contract covering the takeover of 100% of the shares of the company ELAS s.r.o. and 100% stock of HT Computers a.s.
Siemens Business Services plans to integrate the acquired businesses into the Slovakian company Siemens Business Services s.r.o., making it one of the leading IT service providers in the Slovakian market. The goal of Siemens Business Services is to rapidly gain shares in the dynamic IT markets of the new European EU member and candidate states.
ELAS is a solution-oriented IT company focusing on document and content management systems, enterprise resource planning and operating data and time recording solutions. HT Computers is Slovakia's second largest multi-vendor oriented IT service provider. Together, ELAS s.r.o. and HTC a.s. generated sales of more than 54 million euros in 2004 and currently have approximately 270 employees. The company takeover will be finalised by June 1, 2005 at the latest, subject to the ruling of the Slovakian and Austrian cartel authorities.
Siemens Business Services Austria is responsible for the development of IT services business in Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania. "Following the acquisition of the IT company IBIS-SYS in Serbia, the takeover of ELAS and HT Computers is a further step in our strategy to expand our position in central and southeast European markets," comments Franz Geiger, Managing Board member of Siemens AG Austria, going on to add: "The goal of Siemens Business Services is to rapidly gain shares in the dynamic IT markets of the new European EU member and candidate states."
Siemens Business Services Austria plans to integrate the acquired businesses into its Slovakian company Siemens Business Services s.r.o. This would place Siemens Business Services in the top 3 for IT services in the Slovakian market. "The IT infrastructure business in central and eastern Europe continues to show high rates of growth.
