TrygVesta, the second largest insurance group in the Nordic region, and TietoEnator announced the formation of a new strategic partnership to transform TrygVesta's IT-architecture from its current country-based structure to a new Nordic Service Oriented Architecture.
During the next 4-5 years, TrygVesta will renew vital parts of its IT architecture through the Stratos program. The company chose TietoEnator as its strategic partner for this endeavour. This partnership is an important new field for TietoEnator's insurance business in Northern Europe.
The agreement is a partnership agreement describing the legal framework, prices and responsibilities of the partners regarding subsequent delivery agreements. Two delivery contracts have already been signed: The SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) definition project, and the Stratos program management initiative.
The parties assume that the number of TietoEnator experts working for the program will increase gradually during 2005 and stay at 30-50 in 2006-2008. TietoEnator estimates the value of the program at approximately 30M EUR.
When choosing TietoEnator as partner for the Stratos program, TrygVesta emphasized TietoEnators deep skills in architecture and program management, as well as TietoEnators practical and straightforward approach to implementing complex IT-strategies.
"By implementing a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) we support our strong business commitment to multi-channel distribution, strategic flexibility and open and long-lasting business partnerships. TietoEnator's large experience and size assures us that the task will be solved professionally and with success," says Martin Bøge Mikkelsen, Executive Vice President, CIO, TrygVesta.
"We are pleased that TrygVesta recognises our experience and expertise. We look forward to working together with TrygVesta, whom we have learned to know as a professional and highly competent partner, and contributing to their ambitious objectives," says Tom Kranøy, Senior Vice President, TietoEnator Banking and Insurance.
