The new agreement succeeds a ten year contract signed in 2003.

The agreement covers - with updates to the original agreement - IT infrastructure and operations services for Nordea in the Nordic countries. This will include mainframes, mid-range servers, PCs, local area network and helpdesk services.

Nordea emerged from the recent financial turmoil in a position of greater strength. IT plays a significant role in supporting Nordea's ambition to become a great European Bank - and the new agreement is a part of the group's strategic initiatives, aimed at supporting Nordea's prudent growth strategy.

"As a strong customer-relationship bank we want to establish an IT environment characterised by operational efficiency and the ability to support sustained growth. The work will therefore focus on updating and aligning the IT infrastructure set-up to current market practices to cater for volume growth and maintaining an IT infrastructure organisation that is flexible and demand-driven", says Michael Rasmussen, Head of Banking Products & Group Operations.
