The strategic alliance will allow customers to obtain Reuters DataScope's Equities and Fixed Income Data through Cicada's Reference Data Management Solutions. The combination of Reuters DataScope's data with the client-configurable validation, business rules and calculation engines in Cicada's reference data technology, makes this a powerful and economical source of information for a client's internal applications.
Hubert Holmes, Executive Vice President of Cicada, said: "Reuters DataScope is considered an essential data source, and with this integration, clients will see an even faster time-to-implementation for a reference data solution configured to meet their needs in terms of information sources and functionality."
Caroline O'Shaughnessy, Third Party Channel Director for Reuters DataScope, EMEA, said: "The combination of Cicada's sophisticated reference data management solution along with the unrivalled breadth and quality of the Reuters DataScope service brings a robust and scalable choice to the ever increasing market for quality reference data management platforms."
The alliance with Cicada is another example of Reuters DataScope being employed as a preferred data source, offering complete solutions to manage and distribute Reuters data to a department or throughout the enterprise - from automatic corporate action management to synchronizing pricing and reference data.
Many of Reuters DataScope market opportunities are expected to be realised from third party alliances. The alliance with Cicada is one of a number of partnerships that are expected to be announced by the Reuters DataScope Third Party Alliance team in 2005.
Last week, Reuters announced that it had entered into a strategic alliance to provide Global Information Systems' MFACT fund accounting and administration system with key Reuters DataScope equities and fixed income data.
