SunGard has launched the latest release of Front Arena, a global capital markets solution that delivers position control across multiple asset classes and business lines. Front Arena 2010.1 includes advanced Value at Risk (VaR) and credit limits functionality to help provide customers with improved enterprise trading control. This latest release of Front Arena also helps provide customers with greater transparency, efficiency and position control across business areas.

Advanced VaR and credit limit management capabilities are critical to increasing transparency into an institution's risk profile. Front Arena 2010.1 offers comprehensive and transparent market risk management functionality, helping to provide consistency for all users, from traders through to the chief risk officer. The solution's credit limits capabilities can also help customers make better credit risk decisions and reduce counterparty risk. Finally, the new features in Front Arena give customers improved oversight and control to help reduce the likelihood of unexpected losses and help firms optimize their risk capital and create more business opportunities.

Tim Dodd, head of product management for SunGard's Front Arena business unit, said: "SunGard's Front Arena is being continuously developed in response to our customers' need to keep ahead of evolving market conditions. This latest release helps customers increase their transparency and improve the control of their positions and associated risks, helping ensure that trades are executed, processed and managed in the most efficient and competitive way."

Front Arena 2010.1 offers improved control from execution to settlement, including enhanced trade execution and price distribution to help firms improve in-house liquidity and client offerings. It also provides active position management offering more scenarios for portfolio swaps and commodities, and enterprise trading control with enhanced VaR reporting and credit limit management. Finally, Front Arena's automation and processing capabilities can help enhance productivity, workflow and high-volume processing.
