CounterpartyLink, Ltd. was formed to provide counterparty and legal entity data designed to help organisations meet the requirements of compliance, risk management, securities processing and client database/CRM applications.

CounterpartyLink provides detailed issuer and issuer hierarchy information collected in data centers around the world, using original primary sources and registration documents. The data is collected, verified and maintained using rigorous, documented processes and procedures, and all data collection and intervention is supported by an audit trail.

Issuer and hierarchy data, as well as the related linkages needed to integrate with other data sources, are monitored continuously for corporate actions and other changes that affect any CounterpartyLink content. Corporate actions and other changes are applied to critical data within hours of their detection and verification.

The types of issuers covered include corporations, funds and fund managers, financial institutions, governments, and most other common entities and their immediate, intermediate, and ultimate parents. Each entity record contains numerous fields to facilitate linkage with securities data and in-house customer databases.

CounterpartyLink's stringent standards and processes are designed to help organisations meet the risk management and operational demands driven by today's growing panoply of rules and regulations associated with Basel II, Know Your Customer and anti-money laundering, as well as the growing list of country-specific frameworks, such as those proposed by the FSA in the U.K. and presented by Sarbanes-Oxley and the Patriot Act in the U.S.

The data provided by CounterpartyLink is available through a subscription-based license, driven by user-defined interest lists. The data, updated for corporate actions and other changes, is delivered to customers on a daily basis, in a choice of file formats including XML and comma-delimited. CounterpartyLink data will be available through a number of redistributors and distribution channels.
