The team is headed by Graham Edwards and Victoria Butler. Graham has 9½ years experience, latterly specialising in MTIC and Gangmaster Fraud as well as dealing with insolvency cases. Victoria has previous experience of working at one of the big four accountancy firms dealing in both corporate and personal insolvency. Victoria left there to join a specialised investigation firm, dealing in insolvency investigations and forensic cases on behalf of the leading Banks, HMRC and SOCA.

MCR itself is able to draw on a wealth of experience and knowledge gained over the years from outside its business, to assist clients in avoiding, exposing, investigating and resolving fraud, financial crime and other irregularities.

Paul Clark, Partner, MCR stated: "The incidence of fraud has become more prevalent in the current economic climate. Whether they are long-term frauds that have been uncovered as a direct result of the economic downturn, or opportunistic frauds taking advantage of vulnerable individuals or companies, their effects on business can be devastating."

The team utilises up-to-date analytical software to enable quick and accurate analysis of all company information to facilitate the creation of clear and concise reports, tables and charts to support the findings of their investigations.

The new MCR Investigation Team will provide assistance and support in asset tracing and recovery where company funds have been misappropriated by directors or connected parties, investigating antecedent transactions and bringing legal actions against individuals/companies using the powers granted to Insolvency Practitioners by the Insolvency Act 1986.

Furthermore the team are experts in investigating suspect director's lifestyle and standard of living as well as company business transactions and provision of services.

"The team is also bringing with it tremendous experience in the field of money laundering which combined with these other areas of expertise, will greatly strengthen our offering to the market," concluded Paul.
