MuleSoft's products will support efforts at the leading financial services company to drive more efficiency and agility in its development practices.

Volvofinans Bank provides financing to individuals and organizations for Volvo vehicles and other products in the Swedish market. The company also maintains an affiliate credit card business and one of Sweden's most widely disseminated loyalty cards -- the Volvo Card.

At Volvofinans, Mule ESB will replace a legacy integration platform, significantly improving the IT team's ability to cost-effectively develop and integrate application services. The organization selected Mule for its lightweight ease-of-use combined with full-featured support for integrating all types of applications, transports, and protocols.

Peter Merikan, IT Architect at Volvofinans Bank, said: "We believe that Mule ESB can help us lower our development costs and improve agility, resulting in more efficient business processes. Because Mule's programming model allows us to leverage our existing development processes and tools, we can avoid unnecessary disruption and maximize developer productivity."

In addition to Mule ESB, Volvofinans has also selected MuleSoft's Tcat Server as a part of their web application infrastructure, at a dramatically lower total cost than existing JEE application servers. Because Tcat Server is based on Apache Tomcat with no changes to the core code, Volvofinans can deploy their existing Tomcat applications to Tcat Server seamlessly.

Added Merikan: "We view MuleSoft as the market leader among open source players in the middleware space. In our evaluation, Mule rated highly with us on ease-of-development, while delivering the stability and functionality that we need."
