FactSet Research Systems Inc., (NYSE: FDS) a major supplier of computer-based financial and economic data to the investment community, today announced its acquisition of TrueCourse, Inc. on January 4, 2005.

TrueCourse is the leading provider of corporate takeover defense intelligence. Through its SharkRepellent product, the company provides an array of market surveillance reports, including takeover defense profiles, defense-related proxy proposals, and vote results.

With its proprietary Bullet Proof Rating, TrueCourse provides a fast and direct way to accurately evaluate a company's takeover defense protection and compare its defense characteristics to other companies.

SharkRepellent is believed to be the largest and only continuously updated database of its kind. Clients include buy- and sell-side institutions, major law firms, corporations, universities, and data re-distributors.
