EMVCo selects Integri to build system for qualification of test tools

Integri, a Clear2Pay company and leading provider of expertise and test tools for payment, ticketing and mobile applications, today announces it has been selected by EMVCo, the EMV standards body jointly owned by American Express, JCB, MasterCard and Visa, to build a solution for the Level 2 validation of payment terminal test tools.

This so-called 'tool of tools' has recently been delivered.

Since the introduction of chip-based payments, EMVCo has undertaken significant work to ensure that payment systems around the world are compliant to the EMV specifications. Payment terminal kernels are only considered conformant after the submission to EMVCo of the test results performed by an EMVCo accredited test laboratory. These labs use qualified test tools for their approval process.

Integri was selected to develop the essential test solution to qualify payment terminal kernel test tools. The test solution is used as a reference tool against which all terminal kernel Level 2 test tools are benchmarked during their qualification process. Additionally, when issuing new EMV specification updates, EMVCo will use the Integri tool to validate tool updates.

According to Jan De Meester, CEO at Integri: "Building a test tool that is used to qualify competing companies' tools is quite a unique achievement and exemplifies the fact that we are a reference provider. We are obviously very pleased to work with an organization such as EMVCo and support them to facilitate the card-based payment industry."
