Wilmington Trust selects VeriSign for text banking

VeriSign Messaging and Mobile Media, a division of VeriSign (NASDAQ: VRSN), the trusted provider of Internet infrastructure for the networked world, today announced it has been selected by Wilmington Trust to provide text banking services to its clients.

Clients will now be able to access banking information, such as ATM and branch locations, personal account information, and recent transaction history via text message, enabling added convenience and access to real-time information via their mobile devices.

The service, available now, can be activated by Wilmington Trust clients by visiting wilmingtontrust.com. At the site, clients enrolled in On-Line Banking can register for Wilmington Trust Text Banking. Once registered, clients can access the service easily by typing in the short code B-A-N-K-W-T on their mobile devices.

VeriSign Mobile Banking Services allow banks and financial institutions to replicate and enhance the Internet banking experience on the mobile phone, providing clients with convenient options to access interactive services such as multifactor authentication, balance inquiries, transaction history, bill payment, fund transfers, and alerts via mobile messaging. VeriSign's Mobile Enterprise Services enables financial institutions to improve customer service, to reduce costs, and enhance service offerings. In addition, VeriSign's offering has implemented advanced security measures, such as strong encryption for all SMS traffic traversing VeriSign's messaging platform, tight controls over platform access privileges, and requiring secure connectivity standards.
