Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR) today announced the addition of case timetabling capabilities to its Task Explorer system. Task Explorer is Broadridge's web-based, proactive, exception-handling system for its international securities processing services.

Through the introduction of case timetabling, firms are now able to automate the generation and assignment of tasks for back- and middle-office operations. Tasks can be created at a specified time, with each one containing a list of links to the functions required to complete them.
The case timetabling capability allows managers to track the status of all tasks and deadlines, particularly those operations that are being carried out by different teams or in various parts of the world, which may otherwise be difficult to monitor. Case timetabling also makes it easier to educate and update staff who may be less experienced with procedures.
Task Explorer provides the in-depth analysis and control which are fundamental to any straight-through processing (STP) operation. The system works proactively with underlying applications, such as Broadridge's Gloss and Tarot securities processing solutions, giving advance warning of potential errors, regulatory reporting delays, or system performance impairment. It also enables the intelligent management of task-related data, operates across single or multiple transaction processing platforms, and has multi-language capabilities. Additionally, Task Explorer has multi-entity and multi-branch support and, when used in conjunction with multiple platforms, it can provide a consolidated system-wide view of operations.
"Task Explorer is designed with efficiency and accuracy in mind," stated Robin Kneale, Head of Strategy, Securities Processing Solutions, International, Broadridge. "We offer financial services institutions high calibre back- and middle-office solutions, helping them achieve effective STP operations and enabling them to focus on better serving their clients."
Amanda Fisher, Head of Operations, Ridge Clearing & Outsourcing Solutions Limited - a user of Task Explorer - said, "Task Explorer's case timetabling facility is an excellent tool for monitoring and checking adherence to operational procedures, reducing the need for wet signatures."
