Banca Carige, based in Genoa, Italy, has entrusted Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) with the implementation of a transformation project for its branches.
The bank has started to renovate its automated branches, utilizing Diebold Agilis software and Opteva automated teller machines (ATMs). In the agreement, Diebold provided a multichannel and multivendor platform based on Agilis software and is also providing: cash dispensers, ATM cheque book dispensers, ATM foreign currency dispensers, ATM cash and cheque deposit units, night drop depository and self-service information terminals. A vocal guiding system is also available to assist the visually-impaired. The project entails the supply of more than 250 ATM systems designed for the entire network of Banca Carige's 650 branches based in the region.
The Opteva ATMs offer innovative services designed to enhance branch efficiency with a dual advantage: Customers can execute transactions without having to enter the branch, while at the same time, branch employees can concentrate on higher value consulting activities and services.
Diebold's solid relationship with Banca Carige includes the adoption of Agilis multichannel software for its ATMs which allows for increased flexibility in processing new cutting-edge services for customers. The Agilis multichannel software is installed in 500 of Banca Carige's ATMs for four different vendors.
"Diebold offers the most flexible ATM technology to assist in renovating our branches with full-function automated services," said Diego Piovan, director of Banca Carige Group's Organization Department. "We chose Diebold's Agilis multichannel software because it effectively supports our retail banking services in a multivendor scenario."
"The Banca Carige project is a perfect example of transformations in the retail banking sector, and Diebold technology can significantly contribute towards the process," said Danilo Rivalta, vice president and general manager, Diebold EMEA Southern and Central Regions. "For Banca Carige, Diebold has created a multichannel solution that interacts with deposit automation facilities to offer innovative services and enhance branch efficiency."
