Tourism agency VisitBritain adds pre-paid card to online shop

National tourism agency, VisitBritain, has added a new VisitBritain Prepaid MasterCard to its online shop,, extending the range of items that potential visitors to Britain can buy before they fly.

The organisation today (27 April 2009) launches its partnership with CorporatePay to deliver the VisitBritain Prepaid Cashcard designed to allow tourists, business travellers, students and workers visiting the UK an alternative means of bringing Sterling into the country.

It will help Britains competitiveness as an affordable destination, offering great value for money. Consumers can load up their card with British Pounds before they travel and use with no commission or merchant transaction fees on purchases. The chip and pin card is an easy, safe and convenient way for travellers to manage their budget and plan how they will spend their time. The card can be purchased and topped up online at the touch of a button.

The VisitBritain Prepaid Cashcard will be available on in Germany from 5 May and will be rolled-out in a further 10 European and long haul countries over the following 10 months. Full information on the German card can be found at
