Actuate Corporation (NASDAQ: ACTU), the leader in delivering Rich Internet Applications Without Limits, today announced a joint marketing agreement with ClusterSeven (London and New York), an international provider of spreadsheet management solutions that enhance risk management, compliance and business efficiency for financial institutions and Fortune 500 financial reporting divisions.

ClusterSeven and Actuate eSpreadsheet together deliver spreadsheet production, maintenance, archiving, security, data integrity and compliance with improved productivity, flexibility and document lifecycle management-all in highly regulated business environments.

ClusterSeven is designed to help meet regulations and maintain compliance for users of Actuate's eSpreadsheet that design, generate and distribute information as intuitive, rich, interactive spreadsheets. In addition, ClusterSeven allows eSpreadsheet customers to free up corporate resources spent on meeting regulatory criteria while saving costs and reducing the likelihood of fines.

"The combination of Actuate's eSpreadsheet and ClusterSeven's Enterprise Spreadsheet Manager is an excellent solution for overseeing the use and lifecycle of spreadsheets," said Ralph Baxter, CEO of ClusterSeven. "Our unique, non-invasive file watching capabilities allow users to retain all the familiarity and flexibility of their spreadsheets while data veracity and transparency are assured."

Many business activities require repeatable spreadsheet generation and management. However, there are increasing demands for these spreadsheets to satisfy regulations and adhere to compliance standards. Actuate helps businesses receive the benefit of reliable spreadsheet generation vital to business processes, while ClusterSeven understands and helps them deliver compliance and management.

"We continually find our customers are looking to minimise spreadsheet risk while maintaining existing systems," said Nobby Akiha, senior vice president of marketing at Actuate. "Our agreement is timely, as we can now provide a solution that ensures our customers are not vulnerable to data irregularities and meet heightened standards of compliance without interrupting user familiarity and productivity."
