Panopticon Software, the leading provider of Treemap and Heatmap data visualisation software, today announced that Sycomore Asset Management has selected its data visualisation technology as a key element for monitoring risk and other critical parameters in its portfolios.
Sycomore Asset Management is an independent management company founded in July 2001. Today, the firm is especially well known among French institutional investors for its long lasting expertise in listed Euro equities. It has approximately 2 Billion Euros under management.
Sycomore Asset Management has licensed Panopticon data visualisation software to enable its fund managers to monitor performance and risk metrics for individual equities as well as aggregated data for model portfolios, actual portfolios and the market as a whole.
Panopticon's data visualisation technology will complement traditional presentation formats on the analysts' desktops. Panopticon will allow the fund managers to view all records in very large data sets at the same time and also easily see and understand hierarchies and groups in the data.
Technologies + Finance, Panopticon's partner in France, coordinated the deployment of the software within the Sycomore Asset Management facility and trained users on how to get the most out of the system.
Jerome Tordo, founding partner and managing director of Sycomore Asset Management, said, "The new Panopticon visualisations will enable our fund managers to quickly view and comprehend large amounts of data and help them understand the relationships in the data for comparative analysis. We made a thorough survey of our alternatives and selected Panopticon due to its very intuitive display of data and the ease of integration."
Willem De Geer, CEO at Panopticon Software, said: "Visualisation for advanced analytics is a growing market area for us and Sycomore is a very good example of how Panopticon technology can be added to systems our clients are already using. It helps them facilitate and improve their workflows and increases the value and ROI on previous IT and business intelligence investments."
