BPC Banking Technologies, a recognised provider of e-payment and retail banking solutions, implemented its SmartVista system in Avangard, one of the largest Russian banks.

The modern SmartVista based in-house processing center will provide full support of Visa Int. and MasterCard cards, including issuing and acquiring of EMV cards, and increase the financial performance of the bank's operations. Besides, having moved the card business in-house, the bank acquired an opportunity to extend the range of its card products and services. The Avangard customers will now be able to use services of on-line card account top up, SMS-notification on all the types of financial operations including rejected transactions, extended opportunities for Internet-bank and other services, whose implementation has only become possible after the realisation of the in-house processing center.
Within the project SmartVista was integrated with the UCS processing center, whose processing services had been used by the bank previously. The integration with UCS allowed Avangard to retain and expand the merchant acquiring network and to continue using the ATM and POS-terminals networks of UCS partner banks as well as to service partner bank cards in Avangard's terminal network.
As was stated by Vasily Grigoriev, CEO, BPC Banking Technologies, "SmartVista has provided Avangard with a modern tool for effective launch and management of new card related products and services. The system will allow the bank to cope with the rapidly changing card market requirements and increase its customer base".
