4th Story, a premier provider of automated trading technology, announced today that UNX, a leading innovative agency broker, has gone live on its software.

UNX is using 4th Story's 4S.Blue Ridge algo trading server to power its execution algorithms offered to its DMA customers.

"Using 4S.Blue Ridge we were able to get new high quality, high performance, algorithms into production quickly and efficiently," explained Scott Harrison, UNX's CEO. "This product is a great compliment to our advanced tactical execution technology and market structure expertise, allowing us to react swiftly and effectively to our clients' changing needs."

4S.Blue Ridge can host standard execution strategies such as VWAP/TWAP, pegged orders, volume participation and pairs/multi-leg management as well as sophisticated custom strategies for both agency and principal applications. Like all of 4th Story's automated trading products, 4S.Blue Ridge is fully multi-currency and operates across asset classes, including equities, futures and foreign exchange.

"We are particularly pleased that a technologically pace-setting broker such as UNX selected the 4S.Blue Ridge server to implement a new execution algo," said Steve Smith, CEO of 4th Story. "Like all of our products, it combines the flexibility needed to address complex requirements with the robustness demanded by institutional trading."

4S.Blue Ridge was designed to be easily integrated into an existing order management and market data infrastructure. The system can be loosely coupled via FIX for both incoming and outgoing order flow, or tightly coupled and effectively embedded in an internal OMS via its flexible adapter architecture. The product comes bundled with remote instrumentation and administration capabilities and can also run smart order routing algorithms to help maximize execution efficiency and meet MiFID and Reg NMS regulatory requirements.
